Capitalism Is Clean, Socialism Is Unsanitary

All of us at some point in our lives have experienced what I am about to describe to you. You’re with your friends or family in a public place like a park having a barbeque and after an ice-cold beer or two you realize you have to run to the bathroom. Hopefully, all you are looking to do is a quick number one because as soon as you walk into that public bathroom you realize it is absolutely disgusting.

There is a puddle of god knows what on the floor, something smeared on the walls and a needle underneath the toilet. At this point you have a very uncomfortable decision to make, do you rough it out or do you try and find a business or some place you can do the deed?

I will leave that decision to you.

More importantly, don’t act like you’ve never been grossed out by a public bathroom at a public park before because we all have and nobody believes you if you claim you haven’t been in this scenario once before.

Public property and private property are very different. Public property is owned by government and private property isn’t. Public property is always more apathetic than private property, whether: it is transportation, sanitation or public bathrooms.

If you visited your brother and his bathroom had feces smeared on the wall and a puddle of urine on the floor with broken needles under it you would probably ask him how he was doing. That would be an alarming thing in someone’s home. In a public park, that is par for the course, in fact we expect it.

Government, besides being massively corrupt is also an amazing source of apathy. In fact, government is so apathetic that we all agree so much it needs to ‘change’ that every single politician runs on changing it. It is so teeming with apathy can you tell me the name of a successful politician who ran on keeping things exactly the same? Has there ever been a winning message about why government does not need to change?

Of course not.

If I am in fact wrong and government control of property is some kind of utopian paradise then disagree with this quote:

“If history could prove and teach us anything, it would be the private ownership of the means of production as a necessary requisite of civilization and material well-being. All civilizations have up to now been based on private property. Only nations committed to the principle of private property have risen above penury and produced science, art, and literature. There is no experience to show that any other social system could provide mankind with any of the achievements of civilization.”

Government control of the means of production creates a backwards, violent, apathetic society. Many will acknowledge this fact. I want to go even further and say that because there is a clear specific owner when there is private property regardless of it being a business or a home, there is still someone to ‘blame’ when said property is unsanitary.

Capitalism mandates private property rights, without private ownership you couldn’t possibly have capitalism therefore it is an absolutely fair statement to make that Capitalism tends toward cleanliness and Socialism tends to be unsanitary.

There are countless examples of private property being cleaner than public property and there are almost no examples to the contrary. Going even further beyond sanitation, Socialist countries are replete with a horrible record of pollution.

The worse pollution problems on the planet for the past century or so have been in socialist countries, as documented by Ecocide in the USSR. After the collapse of socialism the world learned that, in addition to being economic nightmares, socialist countries were also hiding their ecological cesspools.

the plundering of the environment in the socialist world is a grand example of the tragedy of the commons. Under communal property ownership, where no one owns or is responsible for a natural resource, the inclination is for each individual to abuse or deplete the resource before someone else does. Common examples of this “tragedy” are how people litter public streets and parks much more than their own yards; private housing is much better maintained than public lands but maintain lush pastures on their own property; the national forests are carelessly over-logged, but private forests are carefully managed and reforested by lumber companies with “super trees”; and game fish are habitually overfished in public waterways but thrive in private lakes and streams. The tragedy of the commons is a lesson for those who believe that further nationalization and governmental control of natural resources is a solution to our environmental problems.
