Why I stopped being a socialist

I was a die-hard Marxist because I believed that the workers should own the means of production etc you get the idea. One video of Tom Woods explaining how that has led to millions of deaths and then the economic calculation problem and I got really into libertarianism.

For a while I was on the fence, I was still learning about libertarianism, I had never heard of it before and at first glance it “appears” to a newbie like a mixture of half liberal and half conservative as Eric July frequently points out that isn’t really the case.

Around 2011 I was still in the beginning stages of learning about libertarianism when I went to Occupy Wallstreet (I live in Queens) and the people there were supreme douchebags.

At this point in 2011 I was on the fence between “classical” marxist and basically being a big tom woods fan. I hadn’t completely made up my mind, until the occutards did it for me.

I was interviewing people for my blog and this supremely pretentious asshole says to me “in advanced countries like Denmark they actually pay people like me to go to college for free…I have multiple degrees in environmental science, gender studies and world history it is to societies benefit to educate ME” of course he wanted “debt forgiveness”.

As he said that the wind in zuccotti park changed direction and I got a whiff of the most noxious odor I had ever smelled in my life (btw I was a garbage man in new York at the time, so I was surprised it was so bad to me) then I said “what is that smell?”
And the woman next to me said “it’s pretense” the guy lifted an eyebrow at both of us and then she said “oh wait I smell it too”.

I looked over to the side and there was a tent set up and 3 guys were arguing with one guy, inside the tent was a spackle bucket, inside the spackle bucket is where people were taking shits and it was that guys job to remove the full spackle bucket and clearly he did not.

These occutards thought him not removing the spackle bucket warranted a smack, that got him into gear and he walked away stoop shouldered spackle bucket in hand.
That got me thinking about how a socialist world is as brutal as tom woods said and everything is force there is no “voluntary aspect” to sanitation with these occutards and all of their ideas and promises are truly empty.

I told several friends of mine what I had witnessed and they truly did not believe that I saw a guy get smacked over a shit filled spackle bucket, but then one of my buddies who is a cop in the city backed me up. He had video of a hipster/occutard dumping shit on a cop car and there is a ton of YouTube footage of occupiers dumping feces from a spackle bucket in ATM vestibules.

Most likely that fight I saw was over one kid woosing out and not dumping a spackle bucket on a cop car, an ATM vestibule or a Starbucks (according to my cop buddy, Starbucks were their biggest target, because capitalism is evil or something) so to this day I call occupiers, fight for $15, BLM and the like “spackle activists” because they’re awful people and because the one kid who got smacked was black and the other three kids were white, isn’t that racist?

If a bunch of tea partiers smacked a black guy for not doing something, the media would be all over it.

Tom woods had another video explaining voluntary mutual exchanges vs forced ones…I would also sprinkle in reading “man economy and state” with power and markets at the end Rothbard goes through voluntarism pretty thoroughly.

I had gotten a hard lesson in involuntary “spackle activism” and I find it truly disgusting how much liberals love bodily fluids to get their points across.
